ABOUT SUFISM

Indian mystic and musician Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1926) first introduced Sufism to the Western world in 1910. His universal Sufi Message embraces divine unity of all people and all faith traditions. He founded the lineage of a large worldwide spiritual family, including the Sufi Ruhaniat International, Sufi Inayatiyya, Sirat-i Inayat Interfaith Sufi Path and many other Sufi orders. Sufism is not particularly "a religion, philosophy or even mysticism" but best thought of as "a way of experiencing reality as love itself,"and in harmony and beauty with all creation.

Wazifa practice (plural: wazaif) is a Sufi meditation on the most beautiful Names of God. These names can also be called "qualities, attributes, pathways"* or "potentialities in the oneness of God."**
